A deep clean costs roughly twice a regular visit. Here is exactly what that difference buys, why first-time customers need one, and when you genuinely do not.
It is the question we get asked more than any other, and most cleaning companies answer it badly — usually with a vague line about being "more thorough."
Here is a straight answer, with real numbers.
The short version
A standard clean maintains a home that is already in good order. A deep clean resets one that is not, or that has not been professionally cleaned in a while.
On our pricing a deep clean costs roughly 1.9 times a recurring bi-weekly visit. For a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in Sandy Springs that is $283 to $345 for the deep clean against $152 to $186 for a regular visit.
The gap is not a markup. It is time — a deep clean typically takes a crew close to twice as long.
What is in a standard clean
Everything that gets dirty on a normal weekly or fortnightly cycle:
- All floors vacuumed and mopped
- Kitchen counters, sink, cooktop and appliance exteriors
- Bathrooms — toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors
- Dusting reachable surfaces and furniture
- Beds made, general tidying
- Bins emptied
This is the maintenance layer. Done every two weeks it keeps a house genuinely clean.
What a deep clean adds
Everything a maintenance visit does not have time to reach:
- Baseboards and trim — wiped down, not dusted past
- Door frames, door tops and light switch plates
- Window sills and tracks — the tracks are where the grit actually is
- Ceiling fan blades and light fixtures
- Supply vents and return covers
- Inside kitchen cabinets and drawers
- Behind and underneath appliances and furniture, not around them
- Tile grout — scrubbed rather than mopped over
- Shower door tracks and hard-water build-up
- Skirting and stair spindles
Read that list again and you will notice something. Almost none of it gets dirty quickly. It gets dirty slowly, over months, in places nobody looks — which is exactly why it needs doing occasionally rather than fortnightly.
Why we require one before recurring service starts
We ask every new customer to begin with a deep clean, and it is only fair to explain why rather than simply charging for it.
A maintenance visit is scheduled on the assumption that the house starts from a known baseline. If a crew arrives at a home that has not been thoroughly cleaned in two years and is booked for a standard visit, one of two things happens: they run badly over time, or they skip things in order to finish. Neither is a good introduction, and both are our fault for scoping it wrong.
The deep clean establishes the baseline. Every visit after it is then genuinely maintenance — at maintenance pricing, in the time allowed.
When you genuinely do not need one
We would rather tell you this than sell you something:
- You already have regular professional cleaning and are simply switching providers. Tell us who you were with and how often — we may go straight to standard.
- The home is newly built and has never been lived in. That is a post-construction clean, a different service aimed at drywall dust.
- You want one specific problem solved — the oven, the grout, the inside of the fridge. Those are add-ons. You do not need to buy an entire deep clean to get one of them.
Move in and move out is a third thing entirely
People often assume a move-out clean is just a deep clean. It is not.
A move-out clean is priced higher again — $332 to $404 for a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom — and it assumes the home is completely empty. That is not a preference. Cleaning around furniture and boxes produces exactly the half-finished result that costs people their deposit, and we would rather reschedule than hand you that.
In return, an empty house lets us reach the things that actually get inspected: inside every cabinet and drawer, inside the oven and fridge, every baseboard, and the floor under where the furniture stood.

Common questions
How long does a deep clean take?
Roughly twice a standard visit. For a typical 3 or 4 bedroom home that usually means most of a working day for a crew rather than a couple of hours.
Do I need a deep clean every year?
If you have consistent recurring service, generally no — the whole point of maintenance is that the baseline holds. Most clients on bi-weekly service never need a second one. Households with pets, heavy pollen exposure or a lot of foot traffic sometimes book one annually.
Can I split it across two visits?
Yes, and for larger homes it is often the better option — upstairs one week, downstairs the next. It costs the same overall and is far less disruptive.
What if my home needs more than a deep clean?
Some do, and we will tell you honestly after seeing it. Heavy build-up, a long-vacant property or post-renovation dust are genuinely different jobs. Quoting them as a deep clean would only mean revising the price later, which helps nobody.
